Having been estranged except for a few one-off gigs it seems The Libertines will get back together in 2011. Carl Barat who is currently recording his solo album has said he thinks 2011 will be The Libertines year.
Pete Doherty has also recently released his own solo album and is still working with Babyshambles. Barat has said this is the reason a more solid reunion has yet to take place, '2011 is where there is room for that to happen'.
There have been rumours before but this seems to be the strongest hint yet from either Barat or Doherty. Carl still seems cautious and rightly so as Doherty has yet to fully clean up his act since breaking into Barat's flat years ago.
Only time will time if the reunion actually takes place, it's chances will probably jump up and down throughout the following year and it will most probably depend on how Doherty conducts himself for the next 12 months.
