Hope & Glory September |

Third time round we are keeping up the same level of quality of the two previous nights. It has been a great success so far and it is looking to continue that way. Hope and Glory still offer a cheap way for people to see the newest, best and most interesting bands Brighton has to offer. We've gone from indie-punk to psychedelic jazz pop to hardcore and we'll be sure to include more and more different bands as time goes on. As usual it is £3 to get in with the night starting at 7:30pm with a finish at 1:30am. |

My Generation |

Brighton and Mod go together like lager and lime or cheese and pickle - they also embody the entire modernist ethos - scooter weekends on the south coast have been a permanent fixture at the resort since the famous weekend in 1964 that was portrayed in the classic cult film Quadrophenia. These days there is no heady violence as the Rockers and Skinheads have long passed to a faded memory, but the Mods have been a cultural constant spanning several generations. |

Hope & Glory August |

After a great launch night for Hope and Glory which saw superb performances from The Tales, Young Electrics and Jouis, it is returning on the 4th of August. We’ve put together another line-up featuring 3 great Brighton bands and as well as the usual DJs playing an eclectic blend of music. Entry fee will once again be only £3 - obviously a bargain. Brighton has some of the best bands in the country and at 412 we’re always looking to showcase them. This time around its the turn of 'Dalla Russia', 'What’s Your Vice?' and head-liners 'Goodluck Jonathan'. |

St Helier Music Crowns Competition |

The St Helier Music Crowns is an online competition for unsigned artists and bands in the genres of Rock, Pop & Urban music - summed up no better than by the concept slogan "Real People, Real Music, Real Talent". Founders Sam Gilbert, Adrian Smith and Chris Mitchell created the concept to provide a platform for unsigned UK and Ireland talent (16+) to showcase their work to audiences otherwise unobtainable. |

Hope & Glory |
Britain has always been hugely important in music and although we sometimes come late to the party we soon become the centre of attention (in a cool, good-looking, dancing girl kinda way - rather than the drunken fool way). This is still true today and Britain continually pumps out new and exciting bands from all corners of the country, with Brighton being a city that produces a huge share of them. Hope and Glory will now be showcasing the best bands Brighton has to offer every month and all for only £3... |

Exclusive Interview With The Qemists |

The Qemists are an interesting band, having a mixed origin in both rock and drum & bass. It has lead to an original sound that fuses together perfectly the two genres. They are an extremely hard band to ignore. Mixing two very different genres together will always prick up the ears of music fans but it can so often go completely wrong. It's something that needs to be done with skill and to perfection or just not done at all. Few bands can really pull this off successfully and at the same time not sound like a novelty. |

Crystal Castles Album Review |
Crystal Castles have been going for a long time, ever since the song Alice's Practice found it's way around the web. Since then they've spawned an infinite amount of Facebook and MySpace profile pictures mimicking their 'bend over and try to touch your feet' pose. Now that's cultural influence! Anyway, after that they grew a strong reputation as a highly energetic live band which is certainly true... watching Alice run around a stage and climb on everything is not dissimilar to watching a drunk spider monkey on cocaine. |

Great Escape 2010 Review |

Brighton was beginning to fill early on in the day. Already you could see a big increase of young people wandering around looking lost with suitcases and large backpacks. As the evening drew on pretty much every bar or pub terrace you came across was packed. Even the day before the festival fully starts up a festival atmosphere beings to fall over the city. Already I was beginning to get excited for the following days but first there was the opening Great Escape gig at Jam. |
