Despite including a member from one of the world's biggest groups, very little is known about the band calling itself Apparatjik. It consists of Guy Berryman (Coldplay), Jonas Bjerre (Mew), Magne Furuholmen (Aha) and a producer named Martin Terefe.

Blood Red Shoes were one of the first bands suggested to me when I first moved to Brighton and I was very glad for it. I headed off to one of their shows for one of my first nights out in my new town and they lived up to recommendation ten fold.

It would be easy to lump the band in with the current UK indie guitar scene, but they're everything but. They've got a real heavy sound for a two-piece and have angrily refuted people who've suggested they need a bass player.
